Studio Policies
Tuition: Tuition is billed on a monthly basis and is a flat rate regardless of how many lessons are scheduled each month. Payment is due at the first lesson of each month or you will be assessed a $10 late fee. You may pay by cash, check or with a credit card on-line. (A fee of $2.50 will be charged for on-line credit card payments.) Material fees for items such as sheet music, practice CD’s, books, etc… will be added to monthly totals as they are incurred.
Absences: Students are responsible for notifying me at least 24 hours in advance if a lesson has to be missed for any reason. No payment deductions will be made for missed lessons, however make-up lessons can be scheduled if notice was given. Students must schedule make-up lessons within 7 days of the missed lesson. If I do not receive 24 hour notice, or the make-up lesson is not scheduled within 7 days, the lesson cannot be made up and the student forfeits that lesson. If the instructor cancels a lesson due to severe weather or other emergency circumstances, a make-up lesson will be scheduled or a credit will be given for that lesson.
Practice: Students are encouraged to practice on a regular basis or satisfactory results cannot be obtained. The recommended amount of practice time is at least 30-40 minutes per day, 5 days per week. Students should set goals and develop a practice routine to ensure quality practice sessions. Practice is certainly a key to success when it comes to achieving the desired results in singing.
Referrals: I appreciate your confidence in me when you recommend the studio to friends and family. Students will receive a $20 referral bonus that can be applied to tuition or materials if they refer a new student.
Activities: Opportunities to participate in competitive and non-competitive musical events is strongly encouraged. Students are responsible for any fees associated with those events.
Termination: Two-week notice is requested in the event of termination. If temporary cancellation is requested, the student’s lesson time cannot be reserved unless the absent time is paid for. Otherwise, when the student returns, he/she may have to wait for an available opening. If a student fails to attend lessons or make contact for 2 consecutive weeks, then I will assume the student is terminating lessons and any remaining lessons will be forfeited.
